Power of Makeup

Makeup has been around since Cleopatra painted her lips crimson red and elongated her eyes with black paint just before setting out to seduce Mark Antony. The Ancient Egyptians wore foundation of white lead and chalk to lighten their skin, as did the Greeks and Romans. Eyes were painted green with shadows made from malachite. They were outlined in black with a sort of paint derived from a sulphide of lead. Lipsticks first appeared about five thousand years ago, yet they are still said to be a woman’s best friend. It is said that Cleopatra’s lipsticks were made from finely crushed carmine beetles to make a deep red pigment. The concept is still the same but the production and application of makeup has significantly progressed.

Makeup is like magical fairy dust. It can transform and intoxicate both the beholder and the holder. Your face is a part of your appearance.
